So far, so good, so not twenty

Here I am. Thirty.

And I'm happy. I keep waiting for the "Ugh, I'm not that young anymore" moment, or the "What have I done with my life?" moment, or just a general freak out moment, but there's none of that. I drove to lunch listening to the Wild Workout at Noon in my Prius. They always play the best old school jams! You know that person you see singing in their car, dancing around, having a party all on their own? Well, that person was me. Salt 'N Pepa's Push It gets me every time. And now I'm sitting in the gorgeous sun at Cafe Borrone, a favorite of mine.

I may not be young, but I'm certainly not old; and I'm loving my life. I adore my friends, my boyfriend, my family, my job. And there are so many 30-year old hotties right now: Eva Longoria, Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie, Natalie Imbruglia, Drew Barrymore, just to name a few. Of coure, I'm not actually comparing myself to these gorgeous women, but knowing they're out there means that 30 can be, should be, and often is absolutely fabulous. Wikipedia also has interesting September 7th events. Apparently Tupac was shot, Google was founded, and Queen Elizabeth I was born. Look up your date too! However, I should point out that Wikipedia missed a couple of other important births. K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider was also "born" 9/7. The only reason I know this is that when I was a kid at Universal Studios, I sat in the talking car and asked. I don't know if my parents set up this answer, and I can't seem to find any other evidence of K.I.T.T.'s birthday, but I was so excited! My excitement was due to another reason too. I hate to admit this, but my second big crush ever in life was on David Hasselhoff. No, I'm totally not kidding. And I'm not even German! (In case you're wondering, my first big crush ever was on Elvis. Yes, really.)

Moving right along, there's another exciting birth, which actually happened today: Apple announced the iPod nano! It's teenie tiny, with a click wheel, comes in 2 or 4 GB, and it starts at just $199. I don't know anyone who wouldn't want one. The question is: black or white? ... Am I Michael Jackson???

Finally, on this day, I leave you with these words:

This dance ain't for everybody
Only the sexy people
So all you fly mothers
Get on out there and dance
DANCE, I SAID!
